Subsidized Spay Neuter program for Cats and Dogs

Thanks to the generous support of the Vancouver Hospital Trust Fund (HTF), our Clinic now offers subsidized spays and neuters for pets (including feral cats) owned by low-income guardians. This program will ensure that more pets are getting the basic care they need – eligible guardians will pay a portion of the fees and the HTF covers the remainder.

Please note: If you plan to apply for this program – DO NOT use the “Book Appointment” button on our website or call the clinic. Fill out the form at the bottom of this page.

Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must be 19 years of age or older, having an annual household income after tax of $27,354 (per one person or family home), and must meet the low-income qualifications based on BC Family Benefits guidelines. (Proof of income is required, see below list of documents.)

Pay stubs, T4 or tax return receipts, child tax documents, social/disability/income assistance are acceptable.  Other documents may be considered if none of the above are available.

Application Process:

Complete and submit the form below. The application review will be processed within 2 business days. Approved applicants will receive an email or phone call to set up an appointment. If you cannot access a computer, you can come into the clinic and fill out a paper-based copy of the application.

What’s Included:

Pets will receive a pre-surgical exam, spay, or neuter, nail trim, e-collar and a microchip with a BC Pet Registry lifetime membership.

The cost to the applicant is $55.00 per animal, and payment is due at time of service.

Medical Exclusions:

All patients will be examined prior to surgery. Any pet with heart murmurs, undescended testicles or other medical issues may not be eligible for surgery as we are not a full-service clinic. If this occurs the program coordinator and/or veterinarian will discuss options on a case-by-case basis.
